Andrea

Andrea specializes in resource allocation, budget policies & procedures, operations and facilities, IT, and equity programming with a focus on diversity, inclusion, and innovation. Andrea also has extensive knowledge in physical campus transformations to include equity and diversity innovations being a part of the physical landscape of a campus that speaks to the diversity of students and faculty.

Andrea Alexander holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of Chicago as well as a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Loyola University-Chicago. Andrea is completing her Doctorate of Education from Johns Hopkins University with a publication and completion date of December 2022. Her dissertation focuses on examining the racial and sexual microaggressions women of color experience within higher education that negatively impacts their self-efficacy, major chosen, and ultimately theircareer trajectory.

Andrea Alexander has used her professional career as a way to highlight and find inroads into creating equitable and socially just environments for marginalized populations to include socioeconomic inclusion, gender identity, and sexual orientation. Andrea has a passion for social justice and equity to reduce the “isms” (Racism, Sexism, Genderism, Classism, and Ableism) and build cultural competence within whatever environment she finds herself.
